Amina’s Story

Amina is a 37-year-old Bedouin woman of Saudi descent whose life has been marked by suffering from a young age. At just 16, she was forced into marriage by her father to a man from another tribe. The marriage quickly became abusive, leaving deep emotional and physical scars. Before his death a few years ago, her father sought Amina’s forgiveness, acknowledging the injustice he had done to her.

Her husband was violent and controlling, subjecting her to repeated physical abuse. On several occasions, Amina tried to escape. At one point, she found refuge in a protected house for women in the north, where she lived for over a year. In an act of desperation, she shaved her head to prevent her husband from pulling her hair during his violent attacks. One assault left her with severe head injuries that required stitches.

Despite the trauma she endured, Amina’s story did not end in despair. Through what she describes as divine intervention, she connected with Barnaba Israel’s Bible translation program. There, she encountered the love and grace of Jeshua, which brought healing and transformation to her life.

Noor’s Story

Noor’s suffering began in early childhood. At just six years old, she effectively became an orphan when her father sold her mother to another man to repay a debt. Left alone with her two younger sisters, Noor faced rejection and neglect. Their stepmothers refused to care for them, forcing the girls to survive in the desert, often scavenging from garbage to stay alive.

At the age of 14, Noor was sold into marriage to an elderly man. Recognizing her vulnerability, he refused to harm her and returned her to her father. However, her father soon arranged another marriage. This time, Noor became the third wife of another elderly man who subjected her to severe abuse. To escape him, she would flee into the mountains and sleep alone in the desert.

Even after her husband’s death 17 years ago, Noor’s suffering continued. His sons manipulated her into signing documents that stripped her of all rights, including inheritance and authority over her children. For much of her life, Noor was illiterate and isolated.

Through Barnaba Israel’s ministry, Noor encountered the love of Jeshua. Her life changed completely. Today, she has work, purpose, and dignity. She gave her life to Jeshua last October and now sees herself not as a victim, but as a woman of faith and strength.

Mariam’s Story

Mariam was married at the age of 18 and immediately faced hardship. She moved into a home without electricity and struggled to adapt to life there. Coming from a different tribe, she felt like an outsider due to differences in dialect and traditions.

Her husband was young and unemployed, which added financial stress to their marriage. Along with poverty, Mariam experienced a lack of love, respect, and even proper nutrition. These early years left her feeling weak, isolated, and forgotten.

Over time, Mariam began to change. She describes herself as once being soft and fragile, but today she sees herself as stronger and more confident. A turning point came when she met the Barnaba Israel team. Through their support, encouragement, and care, Mariam discovered joy, hope, and self-worth.

Her journey is one of endurance and growth. From hardship and loneliness, she has moved toward confidence and purpose, becoming an example of resilience for others facing similar struggles.
